One of my primary goals for 2010 was to divert some of the time spent consuming into time spent creating, and the primary outlet for me this year was photography. In addition to buying a nice camera, an application that has helped me achieve this goal is Instagram.
Instagram is an iPhone app that combines the retro-filter features of Camerabag and Hipstamatic with a social element, including posting photos straight to my Flickr. It's a fabulously simple application, almost completely removing the friction between thinking "that would be a nice picture" and getting it done.
Apart from the usual smattering of real-world friends that use it, I've been enjoying the work of these photographers and non-photographers alike:
